Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of menaces (speech acts of threats) in literary discourse tackled
from the perspective of linguistic pragmatics; peculiarities of communicative and pragmatic structure
of a literary text and its structural organization that impact a reader; the essential features of the analyzed
speech act as well as strategies and means of implementing menaces in literary discourse.
