«ЕФЕКТ МІДАСА», АБО ДО ЕСТЕТИЧНОЇ ПРОБЛЕМАТИКИ УКРАЇНСЬКОЇ ЛІРИКИ ВИСОКОГО МОДЕРНІЗМУ

Abstract

This article analyzes the works of Ukrainian poets of 1920–1930s addressing a set of aesthetic issuesknown
as the “Midas Efect”. Representations of comprehending Beauty, the image of an artist, objectives
and purpose of poetry and culture in general in neoclassical and Symbolist discourse are compared.
The paper highlights the role of precedent images and motives in modeling aesthetic texts and their
connection with the tradition of West-European fundamental modernism.
