СПЕЦИФІКА ТЕКСТОВОГО КОДУВАННЯ ХВОРОГО ТІЛА В ПОЕТИЦІ АНГЛІЙСЬКОГО ПОСТМОДЕРНІЗМУ (КОНЦЕПТУАЛЬНИЙ АНАЛІЗ)

Abstract

The article focuses on speciic features of literary representations of the ill body in English postmodernist
prose, primarily in “Written on the Body” by J. Winterson. The paper focuses on the speciicity of textual
signiication of human body pathology in the literary text on three levels of codiication — denotation,
imagery and symbolic ones as well as on qualities of literary corporeality of postmodernist poetics.
The method of cognitive-semiotic analysis is employed to create the classiication of textual codes signifying
the ill body in the novel, and to reconstruct conceptual metaphors in the text.
