The article explores the epidigmatic aspects of translation between English and Ukrainian, focusing on the complexities of rendering polysemous words across languages. It highlights how meaning is context-dependent and shaped by historical, cultural, and cognitive factors, making translation a dynamic process of negotiation rather than a straightforward transfer of meaning. The study demonstrates that the epidigmatic approach enhances translation accuracy by considering multi-layered semantic correspondences and contextual dependencies. Practical applications in literary translation illustrate the method’s effectiveness in maintaining meaning correspondences in the target language.
